Art Classes – Children
Art is for everyone, expecially children as they are sponges for knowledge. Anyone can help kids appreciate art by making art accessible for children. Unfortunately, many adults do not enjoy art simply because they do not understand the stories or context and this is even more true for children. If kids can relate to the subjects of art or learn the stories begin portrayed, kids can appreciate art as well as any adult and create art to very high levels of expertise. Give the gift of artistic vision so your child will see a lifetime of the true beauty of the world.
It is important for kids to make connections with materials. Dogs, cats, cartoons, christmas cards, portraits of themselves are easily understood as they relate to events in the kids lives. By teaching them that art is not something that they must observe but something that they can create, this will help them appreciate the skill and time invested in the pieces. Scholastic benefits include improved focus and concentration, attention to detail, multi-tasking and analysis. Childrens art lessons incorporate the same materials used and emphasize the techniques taught in the adult painting classes. The most important aspect about the class is that it is fun.
Subjects Include: Painting, Drawing with pencils, pastelles, conte, crayons, wax and collage. Model making, incorporating clock design, frame making and design and lamp making and design. Jewellery making using Fimo and sculpture modelling with clay. Illustration, graphic design, printing techniques, one two, three and full colour prints, incorporating t-shirt design into projects. Digital Photography and animination using photoshop, cinestream and director mx, final projects launched on YouTube.
