Painting Classes – Children
Painting
The childrens painting class is constructed in a way as to allow the student to experiment with different mediums from acrylics to oils, pencils, pens, coloured paper etc. The first stage in the teaching process of learning how to paint is to show the student how the painting is broken down into the background, middleground and foreground, allowing the composition to take on depth of field. The next area would be application of paint and how by using different applications different marks can be created, such as the marks that a paint brush might make in comparison to painting with your fingers, paper tissue, toothbrushes etc. This would follow on to learning how to blend, tone and how to apply colour so that the illusion of depth of field can be created.
Texico Art Competition
For the last term the students all created work for the Texico Art Competition. This was a very ambitious project for most of the students as they had to design the painting from scratch
